Fresh chantarelles

Chanterelles grow in deciduous and coniferous forests and are common throughout the country except in the inland areas of Norrland. The season is long, often the first chanterelles appear as early as June-July. If the night frost is not too severe, you can find them well into late autumn. Fry them in a pat of butter or add them to pasta or in a pie.
